Meet The Coaches

Meet some of our dedicated coaches at FC Premier. With a range of experience and qualifications in youth football and player development, they combine expert knowledge with a passion for helping young players grow both on and off the pitch. Their commitment ensures every player reaches their full potential while enjoying the game.

Moe Rahman

Academy Manager and U16 Eagles Assistant

Moe Rahman is a UEFA B qualified coach, Futsal coach, and referee with experience coaching teams from U7 to U18, both in grassroots and the Junior Premier League (JPL). He also serves as a head coach at a soccer school and works as a primary school teacher. Moe's journey with FC Premier began when his son joined the Eagles, and he volunteered to coach his team. This led to him setting up the Academy, which has been running for two seasons and is open to all players, regardless of ability. Moe's goal is for every player to enjoy football and eventually create new teams for FC Premier.

Alfie Ricketts

Academy Assistant

Alfie is the Assistant Manager for the Academy team. Alfie has played for FC Premier for 11 years, earning several awards along the way, including the 10-year award, Manager's Player, Most Improved, and Coach's Player. He holds a refereeing qualification and is currently studying A Levels in History, Psychology, and Statistics. Alfie thoroughly enjoys being part of the Academy, as it allows him to relive his football memories in a coaching role, helping players progress and grow into their teams. Alfie's a Villa season ticket holder, having supported the team for 6 years and attending as many away games as he can.

Bradley Ricketts

Academy Assistant

Bradley has been a part of FC Premier for over 10 years and currently serves as the Assistant Manager for the Academy team. He holds an FA Refereeing Level 1 qualification and is a Year 13 student at Barr Beacon Sixth Form. Having developed through the ranks at FC Premier during his early years of football, Bradley is passionate about helping other players achieve the same progress. Outside of coaching, Bradley is a huge football fan, with a particular love for Aston Villa.

Martin Manley

U7s Manager

Martin Manley is the Under 7s Team Manager with over 20 years of coaching experience and an FA Level 2 badge. His coaching journey began when he stepped up to help coach his son’s team, igniting a lifelong passion for developing young talent. Professionally, Martin is the Foundation Manager at Walsall FC, overseeing community programs. Outside of coaching he’s an avid Aston Villa supporter and enjoys spending time with his family and exploring music.

Ian Simms

U9s Manager

Ian Simms is the Manager of the Under 9 team, bringing 25 years of coaching experience and a background as a professional goalkeeper. After Ian stopped playing he founded a football coaching company working with players from grassroots to academy levels. He holds a UEFA B Licence and joined FC Premier in 2024. Professionally Ian is a Company Director in Further Education, specialising in Leadership and Management. He is passionate about developing both young footballers and future leaders, Outside of coaching Ian is a keen golfer and an avid Aston Villa supporter.

Craig Winter 

U7s Assistant

Craig Winter is the Assistant Manager for the Under 7s team. Craig began coaching in 2024, inspired by his son’s participation in the team and is currently working towards his FA coaching badge. Professionally Craig is a dedicated paramedic with the West Midlands Ambulance Service and his commitment to both his professional and coaching roles reflects his dedication to community service and youth development. Outside of coaching he’s passionate about cars and motorcycles and supports Aston Villa FC.

Haydon Billingham 

U9s Assistant

Haydon Billingham is the Assistant Manager for the Under 9s team. Haydon began coaching in  2024 because he wanted to support his son's team. Professionally Haydon is a BT Engineer, bringing a strong work ethic and problem-solving skills to his coaching role. Haydon is a big Aston Villa Fan

Paul Marriott

U11s Manager

Paul Marriott has been part of FC Premier since 2001, he started as a parent and quickly got involved, first, as a volunteer helping with his son’s team, and then has been involved in various roles over the years since. He served as both the club’s Treasurer and Welfare Officer, ensuring the smooth running of the club but became Chairman of FC Premier, since then the club has continued to thrive with FA-qualified, DBS-cleared volunteers, coaching players from youth through to open age, and our FC Premier Football Academy has grown significantly.

Jacob Roberts

U10s Manager

Jacob Roberts is the Manager of the Under 10s team. His coaching journey began as an enthusiastic dad wanting to get involved, fueled by a lifelong love for football. Jacob brings a wealth of experience as a former player for Atherstone Town, Massey Ferguson FC, and Brooklands Jag FC, Jacob holds a level 1 FA coaching and joined FC Premier in the 2022/23 season. After helping out as a coach and serving as the assistant manager in 2023/24, he proudly became the U10s Manager in 2024/25. Professionally he is a CNC Programmer studying Software Development.

Henok Kolela

U11s Assistant

Henok Kolela is the Assistant Manager for the Under 11s team. Henok has been coaching for the past two years, starting with this group of players when they were U9s. His journey into coaching began by taking his nephew to matches and training, just like any other parent. After helping out here and there, he transitioned into a coaching role and obtained his FA Level 1 qualification, with plans to work towards his UEFA C License.

Calum Scriven

U12s Manager

Calum Scriven is the Manager of the Under 12s team, he started coaching in 2019 and initially took on the role when the first coach withdrew.

He's extremely fond of this group of lads, who he knows can compete with anyone when they’re at their best. If, in their twenties, they’re still mates and look back fondly on their time at FC Premier, then he believes they will have achieved their goal. Professionally Calum is a Cash Strategy Manager in the utility industry and outside of FC Premier, Is a dad of three, and a West Bromwich Albion supporter.

Scott Foster

U14s Girls Manager

Scott Foster is the manager of the Lionesses U14 Girls team. Scott has a Level 1 coaching qual and starting with just six girls and the simple goal of getting more girls involved in football, he has since helped the team grow into a strong football family. Scott focuses on teaching the game the right way, with an emphasis on positional play and intelligent, stylish football. Professionally, he’s an electrical contracts manager. Scott's a lifelong Aston Villa fan.

Mark Ivory

U14s Girls Assistant

Mark Ivory is a valued coach for the U14s Girls Team, bringing a deep passion for football and a commitment to player development. With past experience coaching his son's football team and holding a Level 1 FA qualification, Mark is dedicated to fostering growth both on and off the field, ensuring a positive and supportive environment for all players. Professionally, Mark works as a car spray technician, but his true love for football extends beyond his coaching role. When he's not on the pitch, Mark is an avid NFL fan and a dedicated supporter of Birmingham City.

Spencer Clifton

U14s 1 Manager

Spencer Clifton is the Under 14s Team Manager. He joined FC Premier over 9 years ago helping out as an assistant for the U14s and took over as manager at the start of the season. He has loved seeing the kids grow from mini soccer to 11 a side and still has a few that have been with them from the very start! Professionally, Spencer is a financial adviser and outside of football, he’s an avid Aston Villa fan following them near and far.

Andy Darby

U16 Eagles and U14s  Assistant

Andy Darby is the proud coach of the U16 Eagles and assistant for the U14s. The U16s team has been growing and developing together since they were U8s, Andy’s leadership has been a constant as the team has evolved over the years, and he takes pride in seeing the original players, some of whom are now towering over him develop into skilled young athletes. Professionally Andy is a Senior Solutions Architect in the IT industry, Andy’s day-to-day work may not sound as thrilling as football, but his role at one of the largest pub companies in the UK (and possibly the world) certainly adds an exciting edge to his career.

Melvyn Carlin

U16s and Open Age Manager

Melvyn Carlin is the manager of our U16 team, bringing over 8 years of coaching experience. His journey into coaching began as an enthusiastic dad eager to get involved in the game, driven by a lifelong passion for football. Mel holds an FA Level 1 coaching qualification, his coaching philosophy revolves around creating a fun, social environment where players feel part of a community both on and off the pitch. Professionally Mel is a carpenter who is a Newcastle United supporter, outside of football, he enjoys attending comedy gigs with friends.

Jack Jones

Open Age Assistant

Jack Jones is the Assistant for the Open Age team, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to the role. With a Level 1 coaching qualification and aspirations to progress through the coaching ladder to achieve his UEFA B license, Jack has been involved in coaching for the past 4-5 years. His football journey has been shaped by both his on-field and managerial experience, including managing teams such as Red Star Alma, Bloxwich, Tipton Town Reserves, and Crown FC. After a heart attack during his playing days at Bilbrook, Jack's passion for the game has only grown stronger, and he remains a vital part of the club's coaching staff.
